Clinical Hypnotherapy, Training Consultancy

If you are looking up this website then the chances are, that you or someone you know, would like to improve or change some area of their lives. If that is the case then please the rest of this page and the FAQs page.

Then if you would like to find out more give me a call or an email. I appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to make that first step to change. It may be that hypnotherapy is not the most beneficial route for you, but on a personal level I have found the therapy process to be of great benefit, in my personal and indeed work life. I would be happy to answer and queries you might have and discuss how I might help you.

It is always a good idea to discuss with your GP the possibility of going to see a clinical hypnotherapist. We could then meet for an assessment session, where you can talk about your experiences and whether clinical hypnotherapy might be helpful to you.

Although I treat each person that I work with on an individual basis, my approach centres on the interaction between two people, or a small group of people.

If consulting me isn't the answer for you, I can make suggestions about what might be more appropriate for you at that time. If we decide that working together will be helpful then we can agree a 'contract' of sessions, which can be reviewed at any time, depending on how you feel you are progressing.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

I originally trained as a teacher, but have also had the advantage of working in a number of different fields. I have done a substantial amount of work in the voluntary sector; working with young people in care, challenging behaviour, child and adult special needs. I have also worked in the business sector where I developed my experience of customer relations and effective communication skills.

I have studied counselling in Queens University, Belfast where I attained the Certificate in Counselling with high commendation. I then undertook further study with the U.U. Jordanstown, where I studied for the Higher Certificate in Counselling and the Diploma in Counselling.

I undertook my hypnotherapy training with the BST Foundation in London, where I studied for the Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy.

I continue to develop my skills and knowledge with ongoing study and personal development.

I am a member of the Society of Brief Strategic hypnoTherapists; an independent non-profit professional body for registered Clinical Hypnotherapists. I am also registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register and subscribe to their code of ethics. The GHR was originally established following Department of Health guidelines that each separate Complementary & Alternative medical profession should have a single, central Register of Practitioners. The G.H.R’s primary purpose is to facilitate agreed standards within the profession and subsequently bring about voluntary self-regulation (VSR) - an officially recognised status - for the entire industry.
